Mike Maletic was born in
February of 1975, in Cleveland,
Ohio and is now living in Akron, Ohio. From a very early age he has
been in love with the cinema. In 2003 he received his Bachelor's
degree in Theatre Studies from Kent State University. While at
Kent, he primarily focused his attention on directing for the
theatre and for film. He directed the plays
Toons
and Pitching to the Star, and
directed, edited, and produced his first feature-length film,
Toaster while at Kent. He also performed onstage in the plays
Grave Epic, Revenge Comedy and Stop/Kiss.
This was Mike's first chance to experience the thrill of working
center stage instead of behind the scenes. His interests,
however, remain in both aspects.
Mike is currently
looking to expand his acting abilities for film and video
productions. His performances include such work as the El
Squeeze short-film series. He caught the attention of Red
Duck Pictures when he auditioned for a role in Atonement
in early 2004. His exceptional acting ability led him into a
supporting role in Imperfections.
Mike maintains
his initial interests in such behind-the-scenes aspects as directing
and writing, but for now, according to him, he is happy to see what
this 'acting thing' is all about. He plans to star in the
upcoming short film, Cuyahoga.
