Matt Pallotta was born in December of 1981, in Akron, Ohio. He
grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. After attending Woodridge
high school and moving out to Los Angeles, California, he moved back
to Ohio in early 2002 and began his college career at Kent State
University. Matt graduates in May 2006 Summa Cum Laude with
his Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media Production. He began
his interest in directing at the young age of 10. His talent
in story-telling came through at an even earlier age, as he wrote
short stories and a children's novel that was up for publishing when
he was 8 years old. His writing won him awards through his
school years, but his interest in film was still a desire in the
back of his mind.
At age 16, Matt began to take the direction of acting and modeling
to attain a solid performance background that would support a
directing standpoint. His acting and modeling stints include
such performances as "Ralph" in the high school production of
FAME, the International Model and Talent Association's Junior
Male Talent of the Year award (1998), IMTA's First Place in
Real Commercial and Soap Opera competitions, and a
photo-shoot for an Applebee's trade show gallery. His dominant
passion for directing, however, finally got its chance to prove
itself when he entered into college. While working at the
school's multimedia lab, Matt began producing wedding videos, DVDs
and slideshows for clients. Although he produced hundreds of
movies while growing up (under the M.I. Pictures title), his
first genuine attempt at creating a film took place in 2004, under
the Red Duck Pictures title, with Atonement.
After the project fell through, Imperfections surfaced and
became his first authentic feature-length production.
Matt is currently working on the summer 2006 film, Cuyahoga,
with Red Duck veterans Mike Maletic and CourTney Collins. He
co-wrote the story and plans to direct it as well as play a vital
character in the short film.
