Steven
Hoffman has been acting and directing in area theatres for more than
twenty years. He has his M.A. in theatre from BGSU, but then spent
more than two decades in corporate life. Feeling, he
says, "spiritually numb," he quit that career to do something he
believes to be more meaningful: teach. In 2005 he earned a second
M.A. in education from Ursuline College.
He has
directed at the Streetsboro Community Theatre, the Players Guild of
Canton, and most recently No Sex Please, We're British, for
the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre. Some of his favorite roles
include TARTUFFE (Canton Players Guild) in the Moliere play by the
same name, Raul in Extremities (Canton Players Guild), and
Gooper in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Lakeland Theatre). He was
last seen at Playhouse Square Center in the Cesear's Forum
production of Pack of Lies. His next theatrical appearance
will in Cleveland Public Theatre's production of Our Town.
Hoffman had originally been cast by Red Duck Pictures for a role in
a short, Closure, that never made it to production. He
was quickly brought on board for Lies in the Reflection.
He makes
his home in Newbury, Geauga County, Ohio.
