Sonja Leela Perman was born in Mumbai,
India; but staying true to the red, white and blue, she will always
call Lexington, Ohio her hometown. Sonja is thrilled to be
working with Red Duck Pictures as she portrays the sometimes sweet,
sometimes sassy character of Natalie.
Even though
Lies in the Reflection will be Sonja’s acting debut, she is no
stranger to the camera. She is a senior at Kent State
University majoring in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Theatre.
Sonja is a lead anchor for NewsOhio, a civics based TV show
geared toward teens, airing throughout Ohio on WVIZ-PBS. She
also anchors, reports and is the Programming Director for TV2
News, Kent State’s student-run news station.
With plans to
graduate in December of 2007, Sonja serves as a Resident Assistant
and also works part-time as an editor for Student Accessibility
Services at Kent State. When she’s not catching up on sleep,
Sonja enjoys traveling, drinking wine, going to the cinema and the
theatre and spending precious time with her loved ones, especially
her puppy, Omelet.
Sonja graduated with
honors from Lexington High School in 2004 and was also crowned Miss
Lexington. In the future, Sonja hopes to move out of state, or
possibly the country, to pursue an acting, commercial print, or
journalism career.
